" Will I still be able to download at the same speed as my ADSL modem."

yes. I am going via a 2Mb BB connection on a belkin WiFi router and wirelessly my downloads go to a round 240Kbps.

" Also what firewall should I be using. "

I just use windows own firewall and the built in firewall of the router.

I have used Zone alarm before and it's fine.

Many thanks for your help : )

It is advisable to disable Zone Alarm before installing the router.

Cheers

" I have a dynamic IP ,will this casue any issues?."

In the ordinary scheme of things, no. It just means every time you re-connect back to your ISP you are allocated a different IP address. This will occur if you use a modem or a router. This is a common feature with most ISP's.

" It is advisable to disable Zone Alarm before installing the router."

Usually there is no need to.

On advice from this forum I've installed comodo firewall which works a treat. You have to remember to identify trusted networks if you are sharing wirelessley though - as with all firewalls.
