Netgear ADSL firewall router

  Mr. Chips 09:48 27 Mar 04

Having installed the above router, I now find I have to turn off Norton's firewall if I want to use the networking capabilities to share files.

Is there any way of getting the best of both worlds?

i.e. using the firewall router and Norton, but still be able to share files accross the network.

Or, even, Do I need Norton's Firewall? .. Is the netgear firewall sufficient security?

I had a few teething problems with the above router in the first 24 hours until I disabled Zone Alarm. I had a good look through previous posts on this forum and I got the impression that if you have a hardware firewall then a software firewall is unnecessary. I've also been told this by someone who does networks for a living. Don't know what other people think?
