Netbook v Laptop

What are netbooks for?
What can't netbooks do that laptops can?

I'm not interested in games & I so rarely download videos that I don't care about how quickly they download. I don't watch films or TV on the computer. I do use email & look at the headlines in online newspapers and, of course, I get much help from this forum. I am interested in playing DVDs & video CDs away from my home and occaisionally projecting them using my digital projector.

Netbooks are mainly used for email, word processing and internet browsing. Their advantages are small size, low weight and long battery life. Few if any have a built in CD/DVD drive although there are rumours that some are to be marketed in the near future.

As far as I am aware netbooks can do nothing that a laptop can't do except for ease of portability.
