Hi, I have a netgear router which has built in aerials , on the top there are flashing blue lights which can be switched off.do these lights have to on for an improved wifi signal, also what purpose do they serve ? Thanks

From what you say, they would appear to be "cosmetic". They certainly don't have any impact on WiFi signals and, unless they are indicators to show that data is being transmitted over the LAN, WiFi etc, I'd switch them off. In any case, if that stops something from functioning properly, you can always switch them on again.
