I was thinking of trying the demo version of Sibelius, and was told that I must have 'Net Framework 2' on my Win XP SP2.
What is it please and is there any disadvantage in having it?

i'm ignorant of the specifics of net framework; I have installed it on my pc in the past, some programs require it; my pc ran fine with it installed.cheers

Perfectly harmless, and becoming increasingly necessary. There are also versions 1 and 3 available.

Certain programs require it to be running so that they can function. .Net is a programming language.

Normally Microsoft up-dates should have downloaded it on to your computer.Like Ventanas say's there is 3 or 4 different Versions.I would just run Microsoft up-dates and see if they download them for you.
