Net connection problem

I've had BT ADSL for over a year with no problems.

However, over the last few days, I'm having terrible problems on the net. Sometimes it works fine other times it chuggs along at a slower speed than dial up, or stops altogether. I'm fed up with keep hitting refresh to get a page to load, or half of it loads then it times out. It's happening on many sites, so I'm convinced the problem is at my end.

I've tried ringing BT, but I can't find anyone who can tell me anything other than unplug the modem, reboot and plug it back in again. This doesn't solve the problem!

It's a Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem and I haven't changed anything on my PC or the phone system in my house.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Ask BT to check your line Becles as there may be a fault on it.

If there's no fault on the line it's most likely a problem at BT's end, they might be upgrading their systems. Have a look on their website for details, provided you can get it to load, or phone up BT tech support.
