You can download a demo for free but it will expire after 30 days. After that you pay to keep using it.

Nero 7 is available as a free trial for 30 days. However, if you don't have any special requirements i.e. you only need it for basic cd/dvd burning, Nero 6 is more than adequate and can be obtained, if you look around, for very low cost.

Make sure you buy Suite 3. It can then be updated to the latest version for free from:

You would need to download at least Package 1 and Package 2.

NOTE: Make sure you untick the Yahoo toolbar before downloading.

Could you please tell me whether you can use Nero 6 (Suite 3)to import/edit say a non-commercial DVD, and save it into MPEG2 (VOB files)for playing on a standalone DVD Player? Thanks David
