Hi.

Rather than wade through the emails re Networking home pcs' I'm looking for a quick fix.

All PCs in the home are win 7. Home or pro or ultimate, except 2 One is win 8.1 and the other is xp.

All the pc's can see each other BUT one running windows 7 pro won't let anything access the public folder.

I've checked all the settings etc and nothing seems out. I need to access this pc to copy over some files. This is not a 'Homegroup' But ye olde 'Workgroup'

Any Pointers Please.

TIA

Demoras

"one running windows 7 pro won't let anything access the public folder."

In an Explorer window, navigate to C:\Users -> right-click the Public folder -> Properties -> "Security" tab. Make sure that the "Everyone" group has "Full Control" - modify if that's not the case. Finally click the "Sharing" tab and again ensure that Everyone has full control. Click OK when done - you may find you need to log off then on again for any changes to take effect.
