Need to upgrade to Win98SE from Win98

hi, any clues on how to do this. I have been given a usb flash drive for Christmas so I may swap files from my new dell laptop to my old tiny desktop. The latter runs win98 but the flashdrive apparently needs win 98 SE as a minimum.
Any clues appreciated

Have you tried using the flash drive with W98?

Microsoft stopped supporting W98 years ago and it's no longer available through 'official' channels. However you can BUY official versions of W98SE off ebay, but they are expensive click here

I think you need the W98 drivers for the Flash drive and I'd be very surprised if changing to 98SE made a difference.

What make drive is it ?

the packaging for the drive says it needs to be 98SE or above. It's a Mikomi
cheers

I don't think Microsoft really got USB sorted until Win 98se, so there may be problems with the earlier version. Windows 98se is selling on Ebay for between £10 and £20. There are loads of legitimate copies around as people scrap their old computers and buy new ones with XP.

Did it come with W98se drivers on a CD ? If so I'd have expected them to work with W98.

I've had a look on the web and can't find a suitable download page, Mikomi.co.uk is perhaps the most useless site I've ever come across, Mikomi.com appears to be for Japanese anime and they aren't listed at USB-drivers.com or Storagedrivers.com

This is a very good site for anything USB click here
