Need help re Graphics card for Widescreen Monitor

  MElliott1963 14:30 14 Apr 05

I'm just getting a 20" Widescreen LCD monitor because I mainly use the PC for video editing. I've no problem with my current Graphics card in that it does support widescreen resolutions.

However, it does not have DVI out, so I know I'm not going to get the best quality display, therefore I'm looking at getting a new one.

I've heard that there are some cards that adjust the display depending on the resolution required. By this I mean that, if my kids play some of their older games that run in say 800 x 600, the graphics will display in the correct 4:3 ratio with black bars at the sides, instead of just stretching the image.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or recomend any cards that can do this. I'd rather not spend too much if possible (i.e. no more than £150).

Thanks for any help.
