need help installing winlink software

  mikeyboy32 19:58 16 Mar 05

I'm copying files from one pc to another using winlink2002 and a file transfer cable via parallel ports.
I fixed up and connected the 2 pc's, then installed the winlink software on both pc's in that order.
When i run winlink2002 on my new pc it comes up with a message 'no parallel ports available'. but i'm not using it(this is the 1st time i've used the port-never had a printer).
i've run winlink on my old pc and the program runs ok but cannot link the 2 pc's.
What can i do to rectify this?

just done that on win95.
it says communication port(com1), communications port(comm2), printer port(lpt1).
What next?
by the way most problems seem to be with the installing on my new pc, thats where the error message come up.
