I'd look for a BIOS update for your motherboard, the one showing seems rather old.

Coltch any idea were to look?

I doubt a BIOS upgrade would solve this. BIOS upgrades are usually to do things to support newer processors not anything to do with the graphics. And if you flash the BIOS and it goes wrong the motherboard won't work anymore.
So I don't recommend that. Only flash the BIOS if you have to. I have to say I've done it a few times with a few PCs and nothing has gone wrong but be aware that it can happen.

This should be your motherboard click here and I would only download drivers from here if required. The ones from third party sites might work or they might not, the ones direct from MSI definatly will.
I would download and install the system drivers and then see what happens.
Because it works fine with your old monitor I tend to think that the most likely problem is the monitor and this might be solved by altering some of the settings actually on the monitor IE screen size etc.
It really depends what you mean when you say your graphics are too big. Are they too big in that the desktop is not all on the screen IE some of it is over the edges? If so then altering the monitor using the controls on the monitor will fix that. Or do you mean the icons and symbols them selves are too large.

Its the icons and symbols that are too big

also were is the drivers on that link you post TB?

  Totally-braindead 13:04 31 Oct 07

Click on the link marked drivers.

If its the icons that are too big then try this.

Right click on desktop. Goto properties then appearance and check the font size is set as normal. If it isn't then change it to normal if it is then click on settings and advanced and check the general tab and make sure the DPI setting is normal.

They are both set to normal!!

Just to confirm the entire desktop is displayed, none of it is missing and its only the icons that are too large?

Double check your monitor is set correctly, see the post by ambra4 click here
