Need additional IDE ports

  Stour23 09:43 02 Mar 04

I've run out of IDE Ports and have an internal IDE Zip drive that I need to connect. Is there an additional PCI card I can purchase to give me an extra IDE port and from where? Advice appreciated.

Yes, you can buy a PCI IDE card (ATA-100 or ATA-133) which will give you extra IDE channels. The Zip drive is I think an ATAPI device. Some PCE IDE cards do not support ATAPI devices, so make sure the one you buy does. Or, if it doesn't, just move one of your existing hard disks to the new PCI card, and put the Zip drive in its place.
