Samsung Galaxy S8 review
I wonder if anyone as one of these units, or possibly as good working knowledge of them.
Following on slightly from this thread click here A visit today was made to the local Argos store, as it was my friends intentions to purchase a sat nav system, possibly the Garmin Streetpilot 13. Argos have completely ran out of stock, both at stores and main warehouse level of the Streetpilot 13. This then left the Navman iCN310 to consider, being the next least expensive due to a special offer. Argos staff have very (nil) limited knowledge on these type of products, and the only information possible was from the side of the box or Argos catalogue.
Eventually it was decided to phone Navman technical services from the Argos store, regarding technical information about updates, additions (road cameras) and downloading procedures etc.At the same time, we asked if the technical person knew of a comparison between the Garmin Streetpilot and the Navman iCN310. Basically, we were informed that Navman had no usb connection, so no updates were possible. It would appear as though this product as very strict limitations. The technical person stated that they knew nothing about the Streetpilot (fair dues, it not a Navman product!).
Just like to gain more information, if someone as the Navman iCN310.Was the Navman technical service revealing all. Is this a poor device for navigation ?.
Doesn't anyone have or know anything about these units. My friend as now missed the special promotional discount of saving a £100.00, so it could be a 'wait and see' episode for Argos's next clearance (usually anytime now!).
Thanks dogtrack-- Used that site previously, but like most sites, the iCN310 seems to have limited information. In general it would appear that the Navman is not good purchase, compared to the Garmin. The Argos special offer is finished now, possibly due to stock clearance, and new model stocks arriving.
Will tick as resolved.
Brilliant bit of kit.Only £150 from Halfords includes carry case,USB cable, mounting for windscreen and primary routes in Europe.Needs Abode Reader for CD though.
