A friend of mine who is new to computing has managed to activate Narrator and does not know how to turn it off and it is driving him bonkers. I have XP on my machine and have found out how to activate and deactive it on my machine but he has Vista which is sufficiently different so that I cannot advise him on the telephone. Can anyone out there tell me how to do it please.

Accessories/Ease of Access/Ease of
Access Center, then, under Explore all Settings, click Use the Computer
without a Display. There is a checkbox in there to turn off the Narrator.

Many thanks. Will see what he/we can do.

Can do no more than copy what my friend said in his email to me:

"Peace at last! Many thanks indeed for your helpful research------it was so simple to follow your
instructions, and one click to banish the lady with the irritating Far-Eastern accent!"

Many thanks indeed.
