Mystery File

There is a file in C:\windows\system called usrdt.exe and it automatically starts when my pc running windows Me boots up. It doesn't appear to belong to microsoft or anybody else.

More to the point, Zone Alarm keeps telling me that usrdt wants to access the internet!

My questions are: what is usrdt.exe and can I safely get rid of it?

I don't think that you need it.

Start, Run, type in

msconfig

and click OK. Look for it on the Startup tab, untick it and click OK. Restart your computer.

Try running Ad-aware click here and Spybot click here in case it is spyware.
