My PC boots up automatically.

Please can anyone help me. I recently formatted my pc, which I have done a few times. However, since this new format, my PC reboots itself automatically. I cannot seem to figure out what the problem is. I turned on the PC but had to go away for a couple of minutes and as I turned away, it rebooted. Another time, when I was surfing and when I was in windows explorer. At times, it can do a full reboot and Win XP will start up. Another time, it tried to reboot but it was making noises, so I had to press restart. It seems to happen about a few minutes after I turn on the PC.I have scanned for viruses and checked my bios settings. There are no new software installations that may be the cause. My PC was working fine with no problems before and the times I have formatted.
Can anyone help?
