my laptop restarts all the time

Hello i got a second hand laptop , a dell latitude , it got windows XP sp1 on it , i installed sp2 , but it never went in proper so i uninstalled it . now when windows starts up it restarts again and again , i cant get windows to start up at all now , ive tryed safe mode and last known good con , please some one help me .

Get the windows CD and try installing windows afresh on the computer. There should be instructions with the laptop on how to do it on a dell computer.

i dont have the manual with it being second hand , the model of the laptop is dell latitude c600. hope some one can help me .

hi has it still got the original spec in particular the 128mb of ram?if so you could be out of memory,i would say the minimum to run xp sp2 would be 512mb(even 256mb would not be ideal)also you may want to consider a fresh install of windows,just suggestion others more in the know may advise other routes

it got 3 hundred something ram not to sure only got it couple of days ago it was workin fine till i but sp2 in . but i did uninstall it again and thats were the proplem started . thank you for your help i will look at the links you sent me .
