When I go on line and select a site Iam overwhelmed with othe sites superimposing themselves on the sight I am looking at. ie EBay b,Click spring, Excite exchange, Capital One Stop Popups etc etc etc..porn sites as well. I can get as many as twenty or more in next to no time. I thought it was something to do with downloading up dates from MS ( Iam running XP Home) particularly IE service pack. I have taken them all off now but it has made no difference. Can anyone help please by telling me what has gone wrong, and what I should do to stop these invasions.

Go to Add/Remove progs, select the Add/Remove Windows components and then scroll down the list, remove Windows Messenger, this is where the majority of the popups are coming from. Then d/l Adaware/Spybot search and destroy, etc to clean your machine of any adware, once cleaned of spyware/adware after each surfing session, rerun one of these apps.

Try getting and running "spybot search" and destroy" and "adware" click here if not try getting a pop up stopper, watch out though some of these are crap and stop things you dont want stopping.

Thanks for your suggestions. Things got so bad yesterday that I used a rescue cd and reinstalled windows. I have however installed spybot and removed windows messenger from the new instalation. Many many thanks to all.
