My Favourites back up

I recently reinstalled Xp and forgot to back up My Favourites.I seem to remember reading somewhere that it automatically does this itself, to My Documents.Does anybody know if this is a fact, and if so what would the file be called?

I have just done an xp reinstall and can not find a backup copy of favourites in my documents or anywhere else. The way I do a backup is to open the faves folder and cut and paste the lot into a notepad file and save that to my d drive or cd before starting reinstalation of the system.

To save your favourites open IE and click on File menu, and then Import and Export. Follow the wizard and export them to My Documents, or wherever else you wish.

That is what I have done in the past and it worked fine.Maybe that is what I was vaguely remembering.Trouble is I thought I had been on the ball and backed up everything, but forgot Favourites.
