My Computer and unknown System Folder

  kgman 20:18 17 Apr 03

I am running windows98, in My Computer i have a folder that contains nothing. When you left click(on web page view), you get name, System Folder, when you right click, you get Cut,Delete and Create Shortcut.
Problem is it wont delete have used kboard shift/delete and normal delete. If you drag&drop to recycle you get shortcut in bin, folder stays were it is. Also have tried to cut&paste to another location, again just places a shortcut into location i paste to, folder stays were it is.
PC seems to be running ok. Did have a virus some months ago (whilst running McAfee AV-which is another long story). Now have Norton AV, did manage to clear virus.How do i delete it?

You'll have to edit the registry to get rid of it, kgman. Go to Start > Run, type regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}

Right click on {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee} and choose delete. That should clear it for you. Don't forget to backup your registry first though.

Sorry kgman, that's only for XP, not 98.
