Hi All
I have just noticed on my pc when i click on "my computer" (xp home) all the icons are shown but with no wording underneath as to what they are.

My settings under view tab are thumbnails if i change to tiles the icons are ok with wording under as to what they are, whilst this isn't a major problem i just wondered if anyone knew what has happened or how to put it back?

Cheers Phil

sorry i have no idea but i would try running the system file checker, click 'start/run' then type 'sfc /scannow' and click ok. insert your windows disc if prompted.

you wont be prompted for a disc if windows was pre installed on your computer. this will check the windows system files and replace any missing or damaged ones. it wont do any harm to check this. its all i can think of because i cannot find any info sorry.

ps. if its only started to happen recently then try system restore to when it was all ok maybe.

and/or try a visit to windows update click here and check that xp is up to date.

Thanks for replies guys, huggy i ran sfc /scannow but its just the same.

Stalion a great link but as it's not a major problem iv'e decided not to download activicons and just leave my computer set to "tiles" which works ok.
