My Computer - Not See Memory Card

Hmmm..

Here is the problem

Win XP (SP2)

My Computer does not see the memory card which is inserted into my GPS (Sat Nav) and connected via a USB cable. This is the only way to 'drag and drop' onto the memory card as no drivers are required to be installed.

So, how can i get My Computer to see the card?

Smarties for solution...

Refresh USB Ports
In device manager Uninstall EVERYTHING under the heading USB,
reboot the PC let XP find and install new hardware.
Your equipment should now be recognised.

Hi Streetwork

I take it you dont have a card reader to hand to eliminate usb problems ?

Thanks Fruit Bat /\0/\. This I did and the same result, not able to see memory card. Tried my digicameras and it can see these OK. Even tried a system restore.

I may have to get a card reader, unless it can be solved...

Why cannot you drag and drop files onto the Camera in Windows Explorer. It may show as a Removable drive or a Camera Icon at the foot of exporer

Darn it, got a reply from the sat nave people and they said I will need a card reader. Did I give them some grief over this as now I need to buy one. They should say this on the box when you buy one. so I am now tempted to return it to whence it came with an appropriate note...
