Is my computer fast enough to write CD-RWs?

I've got a pII 233 computer with 192 Mb Ram. No problems with writing to CD-R discs, but no joy at all in formatting and writing to CD-RWs. It's been suggested that my computer might not be man enough for the job. Could somebody please confirm or deny?

It is probably just on the borderline, my cd/rw states a minimum of 233mghz so you might do it but it would be like watching paint dry.

It's OK for me on a 400 Celeron machine, also 192 mb of RAM, with an old 4x Writer, but formatting takes one and a half hours with it. That 233 could well be just not quite enough.

Try setting it to write at a slower speed.

Just make sure you set the speed to slow (no more than 4X).

I doubt you would be able to write certain things on the fly (like MP3's to Audio CD).

Your at the limit.
