After downloading some files off the internet, i restarted my computer and when the computer tried to load windows the computer just restarted. I tried to start windows in safe mode but it displayed a fatal error message on a lue screen. I try to use the emergency restore disks provided with my computer, but i get a disk i/o error. What shall i do? I wish to keep my files on the hard disks, of which i have two.
I dont have a full windows me setup disk.
Do anyone think that i could of got a virus and all my files might have been deleted (im really worried about this)?
I have windows Me
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Can you post the details of the message from the blue screen please it will help others if they can see the code.

Could you try to get into safe mode using a boot up disk and then do a system restore.
