is my case live?

I have just revamped my system with a new motherboard/processor and case. It seems to be working fine but twice when inserting a USB device the case buzzed as though it was live; the next two times I tried to attach a device (on the fron USB ports this time) I got the blue screen of death as Windows shut down my hard drives.

Any ideas? Have I connected up my mobo incorrectly or is there a fault?

Sounds as if the usb connections to the front are wrong.

case should definately NOT be live.

as jimv7 says check USB wiring before it bows the non replaceable fuse on the mobo.

If you connected the USB wrong then The MOBO usb will no longer work as it blows a Fuse on the MOBO ( not Repairable) If they work then they are not connected wrong

The buzzing came from the rear USB.

The other thing to check is if the rear of the motherboard is touching the case via a missed riser fitting.
