my 320gb SATA hard drive has shrunk to 131gb! HELP

I have a western digital 320GB SATA hard drive which is brand new. I uninstalled windows xp to install the pro version and now its saying i only have 131gb of space... how can I make it recognise the rest? i have not yet installed my new windows xp

Have you installed sp2.

The original XP only supports 137 meg hard drives.

If you google for XP size limits, you will probably find a way round it.

In Windows, click on Start->Run, enter "regedit".
# Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Parameters registry subkey.
# From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD Value.
# Enter the name EnableBigLba, then press Enter.
# Double-click the new value, set it to 1, then click OK.
# Close the registry editor.
# Restart the machine for the change to take effect.
