Mute PC and/or PCI Device failure??

My computer is mute, ie. it does not make a single solitary sound. I can play CDs on it, but I can only hear them when I have a headset pluged into the tower. No sound is emitted through the speakers at all. Also, on inspection, I find that my PCI Device (?) is flagged with the dreaded little yellow triangle with its black exclamation mark, and I don't know how to fix it. Is one affecting the other? Are these two factors related at all? Help!

Yes - that flag indicates that you have a problem with your sound card. It may be that you have an IRQ conflict, but you should be able to allow Windows to sort it out. The best way to sort this out is to all the sound card entries and then reboot the computer, when Windows wil re-find the new hardware and take youthrough installing the drivers. Note that you will need to have your driver CD and your installation CD available before you start.
