Music Notation Program

I am looking for a simple program that will allow me to write music to a stave and possibly also permit transposition. I would also need to be able to print the composed music sheets.

Most of the programs that I have seen are far too complex for my needs. Can anyone help?

The best one you can get is "Sibelius" which is what I have. However from what you said you won't want anything elaborate.
So I would suggest you have a look at "MusicTime"
Here is the link ( am I allowed to do this?)

I have used this product in the past and
allthough it doesn't even come close to Sibelius, it is simple to use and you can print it out.
From my personal experience this is the easiest and most user friendly of the bugdet notation programmes. There are cheaper ones and indeed free ones, but these are very fiddly to use.
Hope this helps

Wak & Daisy2bell. Thanks for your postings. Iwas aware of Sibelius but feel it is more than I need. I did find Finale Notepad 2006 via Google and tried it. Seems OK but will try Wak's suggestion.
