MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing MSVCRT.DLL:?

while starting kodak transfer software, paint shop pro7,intervideo windvr,i get message saying the MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing MSVCRT.DLL:[email protected]@Z & seperate message saying a device attached to the system is not functioning.

Win98 go Start > Run > and type in sfc after putting your Win98 disc in the tray. If XP, go the same way and type in sfc /scannow (Note the space between sfc and /). Both of these methods will repair / replace corrupted or missing files on your system. If Win98 you can extract just that one file whilst using sfc. : }

ps...if you are replacing .dll files you may get the ubiquitous 'cannot delete file' message. You need to close down all running apps, to replace the file and a good freebie to use is EndItAll excellent when you burn CDs) here. Be brave and let it close down all the apps as they will be restarted when you reboot. It is a 'must have' prog for any self-respecting computer.
