my computer (on startup) comes up with a message that msvc32 caused errors and will be shutdown.
is this a windows file or can it be removed.
any other suggestions please.

It is a virus to my mind.

Do a run over for viruses and remove any for free: click here

It infects that file I think, a scan will sort any out though.

If it scans up as clean then it must be a problem with that file, Corrupted maybe.

You have spelt the file in two different ways. Assuming you mean msvc32i.exe, click here for removal instructions. It is part of the nasty Clientman package.
