msn and signing on

Hi, I tried to sign into msn but coulden't find it so I found it in windows search I set up an account with a pass word thinking I would be able to use msn mail but it won't work, I did have an msn account but msn say it doesn't exist I can't get to the msn home page, what happens now is when I bootup I have to sign on using the pass word for msn where as before when I booted up I went strait to my desktop I have recently installed firefox as my default browser, could this be the the trouble?

Go in to firefox options and untick make firefox my default browser

Thanks to all the replies, I did system restore so its back to normal, I still can't understand where msn has gone to, it used to be on my start menu its not even in all progams
