MSN Messenger 'Unread Messages'

  paul654 12:30 12 Oct 04

I recently allowed a friend of mine to use my home PC. He logged on to MSN Messenger (6.2) using his own loggon details. Whilst online he must have recieved 3 emails but didn't open them.My friend is long gone now but whenever I switch on my PC, at the Startup screen(with my picture and loggon name)it says I have three 'Unread messages'.I've checked my mail clients and I have no messages unread so I'm guessing that these must be the messages my friend recieved whilst using Messenger. How do I get rid of this 'Unread messages'at startup?I've tried deleting my friends loggon name from my User details but this hasn't cured it.

Thanks VoG, but wouldn't this remove the 'Unread messages' facility from the startup screen altogether, I just want to remove the mesages my friend recieved.

Sorry, I thought that is what you wanted you wanted to do.

Try this: Start, Run, type in

control userpasswords2

and click OK.

On the Advanced tab, click the Manage Passwords button, click on his name and click the Remove button.

I'm not sure if this will have the desired effect but worth a try.
