MSN messenger did anyone hear anything

Hi all

I had a response this morning, but all it said was to go through the tuning wizard, which I have done many times before.

When I get home tonight I will send a reply back.

MSN don't appear to be aware that this is affecting many users and not just me. Seems a bit strange considering how many people said they were going to send off emails?

Yes, I had a reply. Have a look at my post today on the other thread.

Thank you for writing to MSN Messenger Service.

I understand you still have problems establishing voice communication, there
are several other factors that may be affecting the situation:

- Differing Versions (PC to PC voice only): You can only use the PC to PC
Voice feature if both you and your contact are using Messenger 4.5 or higher.
- Firewalls (both PC to PC and PC to Phone): For increased security, we have
upgraded the technology for PC to PC voice in MSN Messenger version 6.1. This
means that you can only use the Messenger version 5.0 and higher PC-PC audio and
PC-Phone features if you are behind a Universal Plug and Play (or UPnP) firewall
or using Universal Plug and Play (or UPnP) Network Address Translation (NAT)
with your home PC. A good example of a UPnP firewall is Windows XP ICS. If you
have any questions on whether you are behind a firewall or what type of firewall
it is, please contact your ISP or corporate Helpdesk. If you or your contacts
are behind a firewall that is not UPnP, neither you nor the person you are
trying to speak to will be able to use the Voice functionality.

Note: Users who are not behind a firewall or NAT should be able to use the PC to
PC and PC to Phone features of Messenger without any problems.
