MSN Messenger

I just downloaded the latest version of Messenger after seeing info about a security upgrade. Now i`ve ended up with version 6.1 and my original version 4.7
How do I remove version 4.7. O/S is WinXp Pro

Start, Run, type or paste in the the following line

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

and click OK.

This comes up with Windows Cannot Find.
Strangely, since Rebooting comp, system tray now only shows the one Pawn, and when I click on it to open messenger, it is version 4.7.
Maybe I should just leave it?

I just stopped 4.7 from loading when i upgraded to 6.1,you need to open 4.7 then goto tools options untick the boxes so it doesn't load with windows then untick the box to allow it to run in the background,i left this ticked on mine cos i get hot mail thru OE6 and it lists my contacts
u can still use 4.7 if you manually start it but it will sign u out of 6.1 if you are signed in with that one.I think by typing in the fix you have affectively deleted 6.1 from working so if you wont it again you may need to reinstall.

VoG™ has the right method but u must use this prior to installing msn messanger6.1.
