Some help would be much appreciated!. I have recently got a new computer and I have been setting up my e-mail accounts to be read in OE. I have had no problem with the POP 3 or hotmail accounts but I have an MSN account and when I try and set it up in OE when it trys to download the folders I get the message "the servers are not available please try later". Needless to say each time I have tried I get the same message.
I have followed the instruction exactly on how to set up the account to no avail

Any ideas out there would be gratefully received

I too have an msn account and it works fine. Did you set it to http and then choose hotmail on the dropdown list?

oops, choose incoming server as http and then choose maill provider as msn. Should work.

smocked

Thanks for that but in the drop down menu for mail provider, unless I'm missing something, it only has hotmail or other as a choice and not MSN

Thanks

Have you tried:
While running Outlook Express, click Tools and then select Accounts. Click the Add button and then select Mail.

In the Display Name textbox, type the name you wish to be associated with this account.

Click the Next button.

Click 'I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use'.

Then enter in the box below your [email protected] e.g. [email protected].

From the My Incoming mail server is a <> server dropdown menu, select HTTP.

From the My HTTP mail server provider is dropdown menu, select Other. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server textbox, type
"http: //oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata" without the space between : and /.

Then Click Next In the Account Name textbox, type your MSN email address, [email protected] and in the password box enter your msn internet access password.

Click the Next button.

Click the Finish button and then click Close.
