In Windows task manager, processes tab, a program called msmgr.exe which run in the background, at times uses up all the cpu, thus slowing down everything else. Is this normal? what is msmgr.exe? do I need it for anything? Why it seams there is no effect to the system when I end it?

Thank in advance for any help and opinion.

If you have spelt this correctly then it looks as if it is trying to masquerade as either Windows Messenger (msmsgs.exe) or MSN Messenger (msnmsgr.exe).

Other than that I don't recognise it. Do you have any other instant messenger running?

Yes, it was a virus, or rather a warm. Got rid of it now. Hope none of my passwords have been stolen. Thank you all.
