I have had a lot of help from lots of people on this forum and I have another question for you .
When you run mscongif in windows xp home which of the box's in the start up shold you NOT remove.
In my start up there are about 25 and I know I dont need all of them but which ones are not safe to take off?
And can any one explain to me why they are there in the first place.
please be patient as I am fairly new to the game
cheers ray27

They are there because you installed them. When you install a program, watch very carefully and you should see various options to add shortcuts to your system tray, or automatically start the program as Windows loads. In order for this to happen, an entry must be made in the Registry, and msconfig simply reports these Registry entries.
