msconfig services

does anybody know the rationale behind:msconfig, "services", "hide all microsoft services".?.i,m forever reading(and on the lookout)for pc tips but when no explanation is given it grates.

It simply hides the Microsoft (presumably trustworthy) services so that you can see more clearly what else (non MS) is loading.

Basically, the ms services are 'mostly' required for the smooth operation of your system, the rest are entries that have been installed by programmes that you have installed or were bundled with software.
