CPU Temperature Too High 17:06 31 May 03

I do install and uninstall programs on a regular basis, I was just wondering how you remove options of old programs that used to start up,from msconfig's startup options.

If you untick an item in Msconfig, you alter the Registry setting (typically from 1 to 0), but you do not remove any files, or entries from the Registry.

If you look at the path next to the Msconfig entry, that will tell you where the files it is trying to launch should be stored.

You will have to search the registry by hand, or use a 'registry clean-up tool' if you want to remove the registry entry. This is a very bad idea if you are not sure of what you are doing, as you can make your PC unbootable.
