I've recently put a few postings up about my computer crashing and the response has been to go start, run, type in msconfig and then make the changes as neccessary. However, I'm using Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and for some reason typing in msconfig doesn't work.

Is this normal?

I believe that msconfig does not exist in Windows 2000.

goll_y, Windows 2000 doesn't have msconfig. According to this site, you may be able to use the Windows 98 or windows XP version.

Apparently you can download and run it click here

I cannot guarantee that this will work but I've found several sites that say it will.

As has been said 2K does not have msconfig but if you click here you can download Startup-Cop that will do the job the same.
