MS Word Mssg: Active X cannot Create Object

  jgd 21:31 05 May 05

Running W98 and Office 2000 (for 4 years)

For the last few days the FIRST time I open a Word document, up pops the dialog box:

Titled: Visual Basic
Content: Active X cannot create object

The box can be OK'd away and Word then seems to operate fine. Opening another Word doc does not generate another box.

I have tried renaming as suggested elsewhere in this forum but no difference.

Can't make head nor tail of the MS Knowledgebase search answers (non techie person)

Only sw change recently is that I have started using CCleaner (after good reviews) and perhaps have deleted some reqd file.

I use Pcillin, Spybot, adaware etc regularily so hopefully not a virus/spyware problem.

Suggestions welcome! Thanks

Look in Tools/Templates and add-ins and untick anything shown.

If that doesn't work. Help/Detect and repair.
