MS Publisher '97 develops problems

Suddenly last month MSPublisher '97 started having .dll problems.

The point of interest is that I am running 2 machines.

1. IBM Aptiva with K500, 256mg RAM, w98se and Office Pro XP.

2.Advent7007 with Pentium 4 @ 1.7, 256mg RAM, Win XP and Office Pro XP.

Although the .dll's giving problems are not the same. Is the timing a coincidence?

Subsidiary Question. I know that '97 will not upgrade to 2002, but if I buy a full copy of 2002, will it recognise my '97 files.

it sounds like file corruption to me, and would probably be cured by a reinstall/upgrade.

The answer to your subsidiary question is - yes, but if you wait until a little later in the year you'll be able to buy a newer version still - Publisher 2003.

Timed Out. I tried to replace the relevant .dll's and failed. Reinstall, for some reason failed to solve the problem.

I needed to print menus for Easter so I picked up an Upgrade from PC World.

All is now working well
