MS Office Help Files

Can someone please tell me how to recover the help files in MS Office - i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. I can get the "office assistant" with some help files but the normal files (F1) won't come up. Also I have no help files on Notepad or on Internet explorer. Windows XP (Pro) with SP2 installed - Thanks - John

All I can suggest is run a scf /scannow.

sfc /scannow (note space).

If you have a recent copy of Office, try going to the Help menu and using the detect and repair option.

Thanks to Chris and Michelle
I tried the scannow - -all I get is a quick flash of a black screen - nothing else so I guess scannow doesn't work either.
Also tried the detect and repair - this gets me the "office assistant" bouncing ball thing, but no Office help files.(pressing F1 has no effect)
Also I have no help files in Notepad, nor in IE.
Perhaps associated with the lack of scannow is the message I get whenever I start the pc - it says" Autocheck program not found - skipping autocheck" - then it boots up normally. Any information will be appreciated.- John

Problem was resolved by uninstalling and re-installing SP-2.
