MS Exchange Server on a Workgroup

I have a small office network that is set as a workgroup. Can I run MS Exchange Server on one of the PCs with the network as a workgroup or does it need to have a domain? The reason being is that employees hotdesk and at the moment each PC only allows certain people to check their mail. Thanks.

To my understanding of Exchange Server, it runs hand in hand with Active Director which is the main part of a Domain.

click here for "What Is Exchange Server?" from Microsoft and it explains it in far greater detail.

Just set up each PC to allow more than one person to login. That's what we did at our place and I can collect my email on any of them if I'm logged in.
