MS Combat Flight Sim can't see joystick

I have put MS Flight Sim 2004 and MS Combat Flight Sim on my new Windows 7 computer. FS2004 sees the joystick and it works fine but I can't get Combat FS to work with the Joystick. I have checked the "Enable Joystick" box and I am able to calibrate the joystick within the program so I know everything is connected ok. When I go to the customise controls option only the keyboard and mouse are visible control devices. Any suggestions?

Have you installed the drivers for the Joy Stick?

I think drivers must be installed Ok as the joystick works great with MS FS 2004

Which Combat FS? 1,2 or 3?

MS Combat Flight Sim WW11 Europe Series. I used to run this with the same joystick OK on my XP machine. I seem to remember having trouble enabling the the stick then but I can't remeber how I did it. It's a long time ago.

I will try this as soon as I can, though it may be a couple of days. I will let you know if it works OK. Thanks Graphicool for your help. The PC Helproom forum never disappoints.
