MS Access 2002

Hi all,

I am using MS Access 2002 and the database I have has 21 columns in and I need to add an additional 2. When I try and insert a column I receive the error message ‘Too many fields defined’. I have tried getting around this by deleting a surplus column and then trying to add a column, but still have the same error message comes up.

The on-line help seems useless… any ideas what I can do?

Best regards,

Access 2002 will allow you to define 255 fields in a table so your error messgae is rather typically misleading.

The advice is for older versions of Access. When deleting fields and adding them I only normally do this in design view.

I have now managed to add columns!
