I am repeating this in case someone out there knows the answer.

Mpeg2 files created with Videostudio8 play OK on PowerDVD but not on Windows Media Player 10 where there is vision but no sound.

Any explanation/resolution gratefully received.

Had a similar view but after downloading what would seem to be every codec known to man the sound remains a mystery.

I have just saved an MPEG2 file in Ulead Videostudio 8 and it plays perfectly in Media Player 10, with full sound & vision. Suggest you check Media player settings. Best of luck.

I agree with lightfeet, but maybe better to download media player 10 it's free from Microsoft web site
