Hi,
Can you suggest an app for converting CD's to MP3 please.
Must be W7 compliant, and either freeware or paid.

Thanks

PS,
I tried freerip, but it wouldn't detect any discs in the optical drives

Have a look at this one click here

What about Win7's own WMP click here? G

You may have to copy the files from the CD to your HDD first.

That's not necessary undyer. G

Doesn't "ripping" do exactly that?

No, it 'rips' directly from the CD to the desired MP3 format in one process.

Copy as I understood from your post was to copy to hard drive first, & then convert to MP3 - this way involves two processes. G

Sorry, wrong choice of terms on my part

This app will do the job, I think. My link above is for VIDEO conversions.

iqs, to get the settings right for MP3, right-click the WMP Menu bar > choose Tools > Options > Rip Music tab > under Format, choose MP3 > click on Apply.

You may also want to change the output quality, the setting of which can be found lower down the Rip Music tab. G

Just another one that can rip and convert from CD ,and is versatile, is Format Factory. Unfortunately you have to install the Ask toolbar to install it but easily removed via Programs and Features. click here
