Mp3 Player

I want to download Audio Books and listen to them on a mp3 player.
I may not want to listen to the story all in one go,my question is how will I know if the mp3 player that I buy will allow me to turn off then when I turn back on to resume from the point that I finished listening ??
I have`nt seen a player yet that tells you if it has a resume function or whatever.
Can anyone help please.

I've never seen that feature either, though that's not to say for sure that it doesn't exist.

A workaround would involve using an audio editor like Audacity to split the file into manageable chunks. It's quite easy to use and if you're careful, you could make the edits between chapters.

Where are you downloading the audiobooks from?

If you get them from Audible they have a special file format that is only compatible with iPods and Creative players.

This format has a resume function built in.

Otherwise my Creative Nano and iPod shuffle both start off where you stopped the track anyway.
